About this Role
Director – Category Management (Renewable Energy Components)
EnergyLink, a Quanta company, is a leading renewable EPC firm delivering end-to-end electrification solutions that drive sustainability and reduce carbon emissions.
We are seeking a Director - Category Management with proven experience leading teams supporting utility-scale Wind, Solar, and BESS projects. This role will oversee sourcing and procurement of critical materials—including racking systems, inverters, transformers, structural steel, and cable—while driving enterprise sourcing strategy, supplier performance, and successful project execution.This is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates across the United States (no visa sponsorship available), with up to 30% domestic and international travel.
What You'll Do
Lead enterprise category strategy across Wind, Solar, and BESS projects, owning key materials such as racking, steel piles, cable, wire, inverters, transformers, and related components
Develop and execute sourcing strategies that optimize cost, ensure supply continuity, and support safe, on-time project delivery
Provide senior leadership to a team of Category Managers, setting direction, developing talent, and driving accountability and performance
Partner with executive leadership, operations, finance, and project teams to align sourcing with demand forecasts, capital programs, and long-term business goals
Own strategic supplier relationships, including performance management, risk mitigation, and category governance
Leverage market intelligence and analytics to navigate pricing volatility, geopolitical risks, and capacity constraints
Drive innovation and long-term value through supplier partnerships
Represent sourcing in executive forums and contribute to enterprise-wide planning and decision-making
What You'll Bring
10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or category management within complex, capital-intensive environments, with a proven track record of leading teams and executing enterprise-wide sourcing strategies
Strong experience supporting Wind, Solar, and BESS EPC projects, sourcing materials such as solar racking systems, steel piles and structural steel, inverters, transformers, MV/LV cable, wire, switchgear, and balance-of-plant components
Proven senior leadership on a team of Category Managers, setting direction, developing talent, and driving accountability and performance
Proven negotiation skills with strong commercial and financial acumen, including supplier strategy, pricing models, and contract structures
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional and senior leadership stakeholders and translate strategy into measurable execution
Highly analytical and execution-focused, comfortable using data and market intelligence to drive decisions and results
Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Electrical Engineering, or related field); APICS/CPSM or similar certification preferred
