Remote Senior Mechanical Engineer - Thermal Systems Design
Our client, a leader in advanced thermal management solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in thermal systems design to join their fully remote engineering team. You will be instrumental in designing, analyzing, and validating thermal solutions for a variety of high-performance applications. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver with a strong foundation in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer, coupled with excellent CAD and simulation skills. Responsibilities include:
Designing and developing complex thermal management systems, including heat sinks, heat pipes, fans, and liquid cooling solutions. Performing detailed thermal analysis and simulations using tools such as ANSYS Icepak, SolidWorks Flow Simulation, or similar software. Creating 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for thermal components and assemblies using SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, product managers, and manufacturing engineers, to define thermal requirements and integrate solutions. Conducting experimental testing and validation of thermal designs to verify performance against specifications. Troubleshooting thermal issues and optimizing designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability. Writing comprehensive technical reports, documentation, and test procedures. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in thermal management technologies and industry best practices. Contributing to the development of new thermal design methodologies and processes. Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance on thermal system design challenges. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required. A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in mechanical design, with a significant focus on thermal systems engineering, is essential. Proven experience in designing and analyzing thermal solutions for electronic components, power systems, or similar applications is a must. Proficiency in thermal simulation software and advanced CAD tools is required. Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles is critical. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration and technical documentation. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the US.
