Remote Industrial Maintenance Technician
Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Industrial Maintenance Technician to join their dispersed operations team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise to our production facilities across the country without the need for a fixed office location. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning and longevity of complex industrial machinery and equipment through proactive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair. Your role will be critical in minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of industrial machinery, including but not limited to, CNC machines, robotics, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and electrical controls. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment. Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and manufacturer specifications. Read and interpret complex technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs. Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, log maintenance activities, and manage inventory of spare parts. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to resolve critical equipment failures. Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns. Collaborate with production teams and external vendors to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure minimal disruption to operations. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards. Document all maintenance and repair work performed accurately and comprehensively. Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on new technologies and maintenance techniques. Provide remote support and guidance to onsite personnel when needed, leveraging communication tools and video conferencing. Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or Vocational Certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, or a related field strongly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex machinery. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation, including schematics and blueprints. Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and industrial automation systems is highly desirable. Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management and preventative maintenance scheduling. Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear reporting and collaboration. Proficiency with common hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment. Willingness to travel occasionally to different facility locations for complex repairs or installations as required. A strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
