Genetic Counseling Consultant (Remote, Flexible)

Location: Remote Company: MapperHealth Role Overview MapperHealth, in collaboration with Mayo Clinic, is expanding our preventative health suite to include genomic reporting, encompassing both Polygenic Risk Scores (PRS) and Monogenic Variants. We are seeking a Board-Certified Genetic Counselor to serve as a resource for patients regarding their genomic risk reports. In this role, you will help patients navigate their results and information , providing them with a clear understanding of the data so they can have more productive follow-up discussions with their own Primary Care Providers (PCPs). Key Responsibilities • Result Navigation: Act as a clinical resource for patients seeking to walk through the specifics of their PRS report. • Information Translation: Help patients navigate their information by translating polygenic risk data and information regarding monogenic variants into clear, understandable concepts. • Educational Support: Address specific patient inquiries regarding the findings in their report to improve their overall health literacy. • PCP Preparation: Provide patients with the context and questions they need to take back to their personal care team for any long-term health planning. Key Details • Modality: Consultations may be conducted remotely through various communication channels. • Scope: The focus is primarily educational and preventative You will help patients navigate their results while deferring medical management and preventative care planning to the patient’s PCP. • Episodic Nature: Work is managed on a per-case basis, providing the flexibility to fit around your existing professional commitments. Qualifications • Licensure: Board-certified Genetic Counselor (CGC) with an active license. • Multi-State Coverage: We have a strong preference for candidates with multi-state licensure. Ideally, the candidate should be licensed in all states currently requiring licensure and possess the ability to practice in all 50 states. • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to help patients navigate their information in a clear, accessible way.
