Company Description Echelon is a sports marketing and experiential agency working with global brands and sports properties. We support sponsorship strategy, partnership management, experiential marketing, and corporate hospitality for clients across professional sports and major events, including NFL programming, Premier League activations, and national conferences. The Role We are hiring a Digital and Media Operations Intern to support creative, digital, and communications work across Echelon and client accounts. This is a hands-on production role. You will be expected to contribute high-quality creative and written work from day one. A portfolio is required. This role is best suited for students with both design capability and PR or communications writing experience. What You'll Do Creative & Brand Design • Design presentation decks, case studies, and activation materials for internal and client use • Produce social media content, concept mockups, and event visualization assets • Create assets for paid media campaigns and marketing materials (posters, signage, wearables) • Benchmark how peer brands and properties show up publicly — synthesize for internal and client strategy • Pull selects, clip video, and coordinate shot lists for client content Video & Multimedia • Book photographers and videographers for events and activations • Create short-form social media video content optimized for Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn Press & Media • Source and maintain lists of reporter contacts across sports, entertainment, and marketing beats • Monitor media coverage, track mentions, and build clip reports for clients • Draft reporter outreach emails, press releases, and PR strategy memos • Support reporter segmentation and pitching for client campaigns Digital Operations • Build and execute content plans for Echelon's owned brand channels • Develop and deploy content updates sourced from client activity • Conduct influencer and creator research — identifying talent tiers, engagement rates, and audience demographics What You'll Learn Interns participate in structured training sessions led by senior staff. Topics include client work exposure, media relations, content strategy for live events, brand design, and tools used in sports marketing. What We're Looking For Must-haves: • Junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing a degree in communications, journalism, marketing, graphic design, or a related field • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and at least two additional Adobe Creative Suite tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or After Effects) — portfolio or work samples required • Prior PR and creative writing experience — press releases, media pitches, blogs, social media, or reporter outreach — samples required at application • Strong writing skills across press, social, and long-form formats • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Canva • Strong understanding of social platforms and content formats • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and creative workstreams • Located near major airports to support live event work Strong Differentiators: • Animation experience (After Effects or similar) • On-camera presence and comfort • Spanish language proficiency • Interest in sports, media, pop culture, or athlete culture • Familiarity with paid media platforms (Meta Ads Manager, Google, TikTok for Business) Position Details • Commitment: Up to 25 hours/week (two full days + 4 hrs for calls and projects) • Flexible scheduling for class conflicts • Hybrid: remote-first with occasional in-person requirements for events and activations. • $16/hr Paid Internship How to Apply If interested in applying, send your resume and a link to your portfolio or work samples to sarah.brooks@teamechelon.com.
