Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled accounting professional to handle bookkeeping capabilities connected with sales and use tax and permit to operate compliance processes. This position is integral to our Corporate Tax Division and requires someone who can thrive in a collaborative environment while meeting tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will work closely with Senior Tax Accountants to ensure the completion of daily accounting and tax activities.
This is a full-time remote position based in Atlanta, Georgia, offering a flexible schedule that allows you to manage your work while maintaining a healthy personal life. The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $30 to $35 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant at arenaflex, you will be responsible for a comprehensive set of accounting duties that contribute to our overall financial health and regulatory compliance. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and analyze income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements, and other accounting statements and reports with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Journal Entry Management: Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting orders assigned to various accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- General Ledger Reconciliation: Prepare recurring monthly journal entries and organize general ledger account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and integrity across all accounts.
- Tax Compliance Support: Work collaboratively with our co-source tax compliance supplier to create monthly data files that reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all tax-related transactions are accurately captured and reported.
- Accounting Standards Implementation: Apply sound accounting principles and develop or recommend accounting methods and procedures that improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Team Collaboration: Educate or delegate work to staff accountants, accounting clerks, and other team members to facilitate smooth daily accounting activities and ensure timely completion of all tasks.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Coordinate accounting matters with different departments, locations, and divisions to ensure consistent financial practices across the organization.
- Financial Reporting: Participate in financial reporting activities, contributing to the creation of accurate and timely financial information for internal and external stakeholders.
- Month-End Close Participation: Take an active role in the monthly accounting close cycle, ensuring all adjustments and entries are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must possess a four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and balance multiple high-priority tasks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills
- Experience with general ledger software such as SAP or similar programs
