Engineering Technologist, Land Development

R.V. Anderson Associates Limited is an employee-owned company that fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration. They are seeking an Engineering Technologist to join their Land Development team, focusing on producing and managing CAD drawings for various land development projects.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed site plans, grading plans, and servicing designs (watermain, sanitary sewer, storm drainage) for land development projects
  • Develop Civil3D surfaces and digital terrain models (DTMs) from topographic survey data
  • Use Civil3D to create pipe network layouts, profiles and corridors
  • Incorporate redline markups from senior engineers and project managers onto design drawings
  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to company CAD standards, templates, and layering conventions
  • Undertake pre-design site reconnaissance
  • Assist with quantity calculations and preparation of tender documents
  • Assist in the preparation of functional servicing and stormwater management reports

Skills

  • Must be a graduate of civil engineering diploma program at an accredited college
  • 0-7 years of relevant experience, preferably with an engineering firm
  • Excellent command of the English language and the ability to communicate proficiently, both verbally and in writing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and in an interactive team atmosphere
  • Understanding of civil engineering principles and practices, with a focus on municipal systems
  • Experience with survey data processing, coordinate geometry, and as-constructed drawing preparation
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with staff and project team members
  • Ability to identify design conflicts and work with senior engineers and project managers to develop solutions
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D
