Freight Dispatcher (1099 Independent Contractor – Remote)

We are seeking experienced or highly motivated freight dispatchers who want consistent part-time contractor work from the comfort of their own home. About Haulwaze Haulwaze is a fast-growing startup providing professional freight dispatch services to independent owner-operators and small carriers. We focus on consistency, compliance, and clear communication — helping drivers stay loaded without the stress of chasing freight. We’re building a lean, modern dispatch operation and are looking for reliable, detail-oriented dispatchers to support our growing driver base. This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not a W-2 employee role. The Role As a Remote Freight Dispatcher (Contractor), you’ll work directly with drivers and brokers to book and manage freight, maintain accurate records, and follow established dispatch procedures. This is a structured, professional dispatch environment with clear expectations, but contractors maintain flexibility and control over their workflow and scheduling within normal freight operating hours. This role is ideal for someone who: • Enjoys operational work • Communicates clearly and professionally • Follows process • Takes ownership of their work • Wants consistent part-time contractor income in a remote setting Responsibilities • Book freight loads for assigned drivers • Communicate with brokers, carriers, and drivers regarding load details • Track and document loads accurately in company systems • Follow dispatch workflows, compliance guidelines, and escalation procedures • Maintain confidentiality of all driver, carrier, and company information • Escalate issues outside defined authority when required • Represent Haulwaze professionally in all communications Compensation & Structure This is a 1099 contractor role. Pay: • $20 per hour for dispatching services performed • Paid bi-weekly via ACH Additional: • $50/month technology reimbursement • Contractors manage their own tax obligations Schedule & Availability • Remote position • Must maintain reliable weekday availability beginning around 7:30 AM Eastern • Work volume typically averages up to ~20 hours per week depending on assigned drivers and freight activity • Not an on-call role QualificationsRequired: • Strong written and verbal communication skills • High attention to detail and follow-through • Comfort using web-based tools and systems • Reliable internet, laptop/desktop, and phone access • Ability to follow structured processes • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Preferred (not required): • Freight dispatch or logistics experience • Experience working with owner-operators • Load board experience (DAT, Truckstop, etc.) • Operations/admin/call-center background What Success Looks Like • Loads booked quickly, accurately and efficiently • Drivers receive clear, timely communication • Documentation is complete and correct • SOPs are followed consistently • Issues escalated appropriately • Professional broker relationships maintained Why Contract With Haulwaze • Consistent driver assignments (not random load hunting) • Clear expectations and defined scope • Professional, respectful environment • Structured systems and processes • Opportunity to grow with a scaling dispatch operations Application Note This is a remote independent contractor (1099) opportunity.
