[Remote] Generative AI Engineer Virtual Internship

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Robert Half, one of FORTUNE’s World’s Most Admired Companies, is hiring for a Generative AI Engineer Virtual Intern to join the Protiviti Applications department. This intern will help develop and support AI-driven applications, focusing on generative AI topics such as large language models and conversational AI. Responsibilities • Design, develop and maintain Generative AI applications, advanced AI models and conversational agents • Use Gen AI techniques like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Prompt Engineering, Embeddings etc. to enhance model outcomes • Perform evaluation on LLM output using appropriate metrics and iteratively improve results • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in AI to implement cutting-edge solutions • Communicate model results and solicit feedback from stakeholders at various levels Skills • Be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program related to computer science, with a graduation year of 2027 • Working knowledge of a programming or scripting language (Python, C#, JavaScript/Typescript, SQL) • Working knowledge of LLM and Generative AI concepts and its real-world applications • Working knowledge of evaluating LLM output with appropriate metrics • Good working knowledge of SQL query language (preferably with Microsoft SQL Server) • Good understanding of SQL Server DB concepts • Understanding of No SQL concepts and Cosmos DB • Understanding of Cloud Platforms is a plus (Azure/AWS) • Experience with various full cycle software development methodologies, tools and practices is a plus • Good knowledge on software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum • Ability to interact and communicate with business partners of varying levels of expertise • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users • Ability to communicate business process to technical resources • Ability to understand complex process flow diagrams or flowcharts that demonstrate business or system process flow • Ability to work full 40-hour weeks virtually from June 17 – August 7, 2026 (internship dates cannot be altered) • All applicants applying for U.S. intern openings need authorization to work in the United States for Robert Half without sponsorship now or in the future • Possess good presentation skills to effectively communicate and showcase the features and benefits of our internally developed Gen AI applications to various stakeholders Benefits • Medical • Vision • Dental • Life and disability insurance • 401(k) plan Company Overview • At Robert Half, we prioritize your security—if you believe you've encountered a scam or fraudulent recruiter, please report it immediately to It was founded in 1948, and is headquartered in Menlo Park, California, USA, with a workforce of 10001+ employees.
