Information Systems Architect / AWS Developer-Administrator
DPP is seeking an Information Systems Architect for an opportunity in Columbia, SC. This role is open to nationwide candidates who are comfortable working East Coast hours. Must be able to relocate if required.
Work location: Currently 100% remote. Due to Governor’s orders, this position may become fully onsite with no notice.
Duration: 12 months, with possibility of extension; W2 position

Position summary:
• The Information Systems Architect / AWS Developer-Administrator will support ongoing cloud modernization, operational continuity, and expansion of AWS-based services. This role operates within a large, distributed enterprise supporting mission‑critical applications, with emphasis on reliability, security, automation, and scalability.
• You will design, develop, deploy, and administer AWS environments supporting cloud‑native and hybrid workloads. Responsibilities include managing core AWS services, automation, integrations, serverless components, contact center solutions, and compliance controls. The position works closely with cloud engineering, development, security, and operations teams to deliver secure, resilient, and cost‑efficient cloud solutions.
Major responsibilities:
• Design, deploy, administer, and support AWS environments following best practices
• Manage AWS account structure, IAM roles, policies, and least‑privilege access
• Develop and maintain solutions using core AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, Lambda, etc.)
• Support Amazon Connect environments (contact flows, queues, routing, prompts, integrations, troubleshooting)
• Integrate AI-enabled capabilities using Amazon Bedrock
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar)
• Monitor performance, availability, security, and cost optimization
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
• Collaborate with security teams on encryption, logging, monitoring, and compliance
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams
• Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring
• Participate in scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and after‑hours support
Environment and tools:
• AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation/Terraform, CloudWatch, CloudTrail)
• Amazon Connect
• Amazon Bedrock
• API Gateway
• CI/CD tools (AWS-native or third‑party)
• Git-based version control
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• 6+ years supporting enterprise systems
• 3+ years hands‑on AWS development or administration
• 3+ years with core AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, Lambda)
• 3+ years with Amazon Connect or contact center technologies
• 3+ years integrating APIs, serverless functions, and cloud‑native services
• 3+ years implementing IaC and automation
• 3+ years with AWS security, logging, and monitoring
• 3+ years scripting (Python, Bash, or equivalent)
Required certifications:
• AWS Solutions Architect – Professional
• OR, AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional
Preferred skills:
• AI/ML integrations and prompt engineering
• Hybrid cloud or third‑party integrations
• Cost optimization / FinOps
• Experience with Microsoft Azure
• AZ‑305 (Azure Solutions Architect) certification
Additional skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to mentor junior engineers
• Strong documentation and operational discipline
