[Remote] Cloud Architect (Azure)

They are seeking a Cloud Architect (Azure) to lead the design, migration, and modernization of enterprise workloads in Microsoft Azure, focusing on infrastructure architecture and large-scale migration initiatives. Responsibilities • Lead the design of Azure-based infrastructure solutions including IaaS, hybrid, and multi-region deployments • Architect core infrastructure components, including: Virtual Networks, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, and routing; Azure Virtual WAN; Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall, and security segmentation; Azure Virtual Machines, Scale Sets, and Availability Zones; Azure Storage (Blob, Files, Premium, Archive tiers); Azure Backup and Site Recovery • Design hybrid identity integrations using Entra ID and Active Directory • Develop landing zones aligned to Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework principles • Define governance standards, including RBAC models, policy enforcement, cost controls, and tagging strategies • Lead infrastructure assessments, discovery workshops, and technical validation sessions • Architect and execute large-scale Azure migrations including: VMware/Nutanix to Azure lift-and-shift migrations; Subscription migrations and tenant consolidations; Hybrid network re-architecture • Oversee production cutovers, including after-hours and weekend migration windows • Develop migration runbooks, rollback strategies, and validation procedures • Implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies • Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or similar tools • Automate provisioning and configuration of infrastructure components • Optimize environments for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency • Provide cost modeling and Reserved Instance / Savings Plan strategy guidance • Serve as technical lead during client engagements • Facilitate infrastructure design workshops and architectural reviews • Produce detailed architecture diagrams, solution documentation, and executive-ready deliverables • Mentor Associate Cloud Architects and technical team members • Identify process improvement and standardization opportunities across delivery practices Skills • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) • 7+ years of infrastructure architecture and engineering experience • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and delivering Azure infrastructure solutions • Deep expertise in: Azure IaaS (VMs, networking, storage); Hybrid connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute); Identity and access management (Entra ID / AD DS); Azure governance and policy; Backup and disaster recovery design • Experience leading production migrations and infrastructure transformation projects • Azure Certifications: AZ-700 is required • Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell required; Python preferred) • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools • Ability to support after-hours migration activities as needed • Strong presentation and client-facing communication skills • Azure certifications: AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700 are strongly preferred • Additional Certifications: CompTIA Network+ Certification • Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop infrastructure design • Familiarity with Azure Virtual WAN architectures • Experience with enterprise network redesign and routing strategy • DevOps knowledge, including Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines • Experience supporting highly regulated or enterprise-scale environments Benefits • 100% employer-paid base medical coverage: • HMO (CA) | PPO (out-of-state) • Dental and vision coverage • 401(k) with 4% company match (fully vested) • Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays • Paid parental leave • Voluntary benefits (STD•, life/AD&D, accident, critical illness, hospital) • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) • Pet discount plans • Microsoft reimbursement program Company Overview • Trusted Tech Team is providing the best experience for purchasing software online while being entirely “by the book”.
