In this dual‑role position, you’ll serve as both a Ticket Agent and a Gate Agent, handling everything from ticket issuance to final boarding announcements. Key Responsibilities

Ticket Agent Duties

  • Warmly greet passengers and guide them through the ticketing and baggage check‑in process.
  • Utilize the reservation system to sell, print, reissue, and modify tickets with accuracy and speed.
  • Verify travel documentation, ensuring passports, visas, and other required paperwork are in order.
  • Tag baggage, operate scales, and transfer luggage from scales to conveyor belts while following safety protocols.
  • Perform manual lifting tasks, handling items ranging from floor level to waist height, adhering to ergonomic best practices.
  • Maintain strict compliance with uniform standards and dress code, presenting a polished, professional image at all times.
  • Collaborate with security, baggage handling, and other airport teams to resolve passenger concerns promptly.

Gate Agent Duties

  • Assist passengers with seat selection, upgrades, and special service requests using the gate‑side computer system.
  • Make clear, courteous gate announcements regarding boarding procedures, flight status, and any operational updates.
  • Control the boarding process, scanning boarding passes, checking carry‑on compliance, and managing priority boarding groups.
  • Operate jetways, positioning them correctly before aircraft arrival, and safely open, close, and secure aircraft doors.
  • Coordinate with flight crews, ramp personnel, and baggage services to ensure on‑time departures.
  • Provide assistance to unaccompanied minors, passengers with disabilities, and anyone needing extra support throughout the gate area.
  • Continuously monitor safety hazards, report incidents, and follow emergency procedures when required.

Essential Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills; clear pronunciation and professional tone are a must.
  • Basic computer proficiency and comfort using reservation and gate‑management software.
  • Demonstrated respect for privacy and the ability to handle personal data securely.
  • Physical ability to lift bags up to 50 lb frequently and up to 70 lb occasionally; ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work a rotating schedule that includes afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Successful completion of a Customer Service Assessment, a post‑offer drug test, and a physical ability test (PAT).
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting and federal criminal‑history verification.

Preferred Qualifications (Competitive Edge)

  • Prior experience in an airport, airline, or hospitality customer‑service role.
  • Familiarity with airline reservation platforms such as Sabre, Amadeus, or similar systems.
  • Additional language proficiency (Spanish, Mandarin, etc.) to serve a diverse passenger base.
  • Certification in first aid, CPR, or other safety‑related training.
