Position Overview – Ticket & Gate Operations Specialist

As a Ticket & Gate Operations Specialist at arenaflex, you will be the welcoming face of our brand at the airport, ensuring every passenger’s journey begins and ends with confidence and care. This entry‑level, customer‑focused role blends front‑desk service, baggage handling, and aircraft gate management. You will be responsible for guiding travelers through ticketing, check‑in, and boarding, while also performing critical safety‑related tasks such as operating loading bridges, managing aircraft doors, and escorting unaccompanied minors or passengers with disabilities.

Working hours are flexible, ranging from early mornings to overnight shifts, with a schedule of 20 to 40 hours per week based on seniority and operational needs. The role offers a starting wage of $19.00 per hour, with regular merit‑based increases and a robust benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Passenger Interaction & Service: Greet passengers warmly, verify travel documents, answer questions, and provide clear, courteous assistance throughout the ticketing and boarding process.
  • Check‑In Management: Own the entire check‑in workflow, from scanning IDs and boarding passes to handling seat assignments and luggage tags.
  • Gate Announcements & Boarding Coordination: Make timely, accurate announcements, monitor boarding progress, and ensure seat availability aligns with flight loads.
  • Baggage Handling: Tag, lift, and place bags on conveyor belts, safely managing items that may weigh up to 70 pounds.
  • Aircraft Door & Loading Bridge Operation: Open, close, and secure aircraft doors; operate loading bridges to connect aircraft with the terminal safely.
  • Special Passenger Assistance: Escort unaccompanied minors, passengers with reduced mobility, and individuals requiring additional support throughout the airport environment.
  • Safety & Security Compliance: Prioritize personal, passenger, and data safety; follow all arenaflex security protocols, including badge and customs seal requirements.
  • Shift Flexibility: Adapt to varying schedules based on operational demand, covering early‑morning, daytime, and overnight shifts as needed.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum age of 18 years and legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Proficiency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proper grammar, tone, and pronunciation.
  • Basic digital literacy – comfortable using ticketing software, handheld devices, and airport information systems.
  • Successful completion of a Physical Ability Test (PAT) and a Customer Service Assessment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport‑specific credentials such as an arenaflex Identification Badge (formerly SIDA) and Customs Seal.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, security, and privacy of personal data.
