Key Responsibilities
Ground Handling & Baggage Operations
- Safely lift, load, unload, and transport passenger baggage, mail, and cargo between the terminal and aircraft using proper lifting techniques and personal protective equipment.
- Operate and maintain ground support equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, tow tractors, and cargo carts, ensuring all equipment is inspected, serviced, and ready for use.
- Utilize baggage scanners and computer systems to verify, sort, and route luggage accurately, preventing misplacements and ensuring timely delivery to the aircraft.
- Monitor and protect cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and adverse weather conditions throughout the handling process.
Aircraft Guidance & Gate Coordination
- Guide incoming and departing aircraft from the gate to the appropriate parking position while communicating clearly with pilots, dispatch, and the operations control center.
