Medical Billing Specialist - Remote

JOB SUMMARY: This is a full-time, remote position that requires you to be a self-motivated and organized worker. You would be billing for mental health providers across the nation from an internet-based EHR platform. Communication is necessary with the providers but minimally with clients. There are no collections involved in this billing position. The successful candidate will be independent, experienced in Medical Billing, an excellent communicator and reliable. We are only looking for individuals with experience working remotely and with a strong, consistent work history. Integrity and dependability are paramount in our company. In this position, you will: • Verify eligibility and benefits via phone or online portal for in office and telehealth visits. • Submit claims daily for providers. • Follow up on denied and rejected claims. • Post payments or adjustments as needed. • Answer provider questions regarding their accounts. • Maintain knowledge of and follow policies and procedures to maintain compliance. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer policies and applicable regulations and policies pertaining to your providers’ insurances. Essential Requirements: Ability to: • Comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines. • Complete job required training. • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.) • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner with providers and coworkers • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations • Work independently with minimal supervision QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma required, Associate degree or higher in related field preferred • Must be 18 years of age • Background clearance • Previous medical billing experience (3 years required) • Previous remote work experience (1 year required) • Demonstrated independence and integrity Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Strong investigative, problem solving and organizational skills • Ability to multi-task • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA • Excellent attention to detail and ability to complete work with accuracy • Knowledge of medical billing • Knowledge of SimplePractice EHR system is STRONGLY preferred Additional notes: • Strong preference to candidates living in North Texas • You must have access to a secure, private work area Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour Benefits: • Paid time off Work Location: Remote Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
