Senior Engineer I – Managed Kubernetes

Job Description: • Develop the DigitalOcean Managed Kubernetes product. • Contribute to our growing GPU offering to support scalable inference workloads at DigitalOcean. • Develop back-end gRPC services written in Go deployed on Kubernetes. • Design back-end services and author engineering design documents. • Raise the bar for Operational Excellence. • Independently lead projects. • Navigate the complexity of distributed systems and operate them in production. • Break the design documents into actionable epics and stories with estimates. • Run experiments to optimize user experience and increase adoption of DOKS. • Contribute to and maintain open-source projects, and collaborate with our developer community through customer meetings, blogs, and podcasts. • Find emerging tools, trends, and methodologies and show your team how to integrate them against existing systems and processes. • Regularly interact with important customers to understand their needs in the product. • Contribute meaningfully to discussions on architecture, implementation, design patterns, and processes while being able to succinctly convey ideas to peers and mentees. • Work on teams that operate across multiple time zones. Requirements: • Expert knowledge of Kubernetes internals and Go. • Experience operating Kubernetes platforms at scale. • Ability to drive complex projects from inception through completion.
