Role Overview Transak is seeking a highly experienced Director of Information Security to lead our global information and cybersecurity function. This role will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive security strategy that ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Transak’s systems, data, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cybersecurity, risk management, and regulatory compliance, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges in the Web3 and crypto landscape. Responsibilities: • Develop, implement, and maintain Transak’s global information security strategy aligned with business objectives and risk appetite. • Oversee the design, deployment, and management of enterprise security architecture, tools, and frameworks. • Lead all aspects of security operations including incident detection, response, and remediation. • Conduct regular risk assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management to ensure a proactive security posture. • Define and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures in line with ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and other relevant regulations. • Serve as the key liaison with auditors, regulators, and external partners on security and compliance matters. • Oversee access control, identity management, data loss prevention, and endpoint protection programs. • Collaborate with the Engineering, Compliance, and Legal teams to embed security into product design and company operations. • Manage and mentor a high-performing security team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. • Lead incident response planning, business continuity, and disaster recovery initiatives. • Act as a single point of contact for authorities and relevant stakeholders in the industry for external incident management reporting and remediation. • Organize penn and stress testing for Transak local and global operations and monitor remediation of issues identified. • Present regular security reports, KPIs, and risk updates to the executive leadership and board of directors. • Champion cybersecurity awareness and training initiatives across the organisation and conduct periodical trainings for the local and global teams Requirements: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. • 10+ years of experience in information security roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity. • Proven experience managing security in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to fintech and digital assets (e.g., DORA, GDPR, MiCA, PCI-DSS, NIS2). • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer preferred. • Demonstrated experience leading incident response, threat intelligence, and risk management programs. • Excellent stakeholder communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills. • Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments such as fintech, crypto, or Web3. • Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver under pressure.
