Planning and Design Engineer Location: Remote Salary: $28.13-$32.48/hr. Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, Day shift Description of Role: SRI Telecom is seeking a Planning & Design Engineer to support Comcast's Central and Northeast Divisions in a fully remote capacity. This role focuses on in-house OSP engineering support, including as-built quality control, betterment design, forced relocations, SPAN replacements, and fiber reclamation initiatives. This is not a drafting-only position. The ideal candidate has hands-on OSP engineering experience, strong IRIS proficiency, and the ability to independently review, validate, and approve designs to Comcast standards before release. This role operates Tuesday-Saturday (day shift, flexible hours). Tasks: • Perform engineering review and QC of as-built deliverables to ensure compliance with Comcast standards • Approve designs for release once validated against construction and GIS requirements • Support betterment projects including forced relocates, SPAN replacements, and upfront design initiatives • Manage fiber reclamation efforts, returning disconnected services to usable network state • Design and validate coax and fiber OSP solutions • Add and validate labor rate codes within project documentation • Utilize IRIS for design tracking, documentation, and workflow management (required) • Generate and manage reports in P2; track multiple projects and timelines effectively • Coordinate with construction leads to obtain GIS mapping data and resolve discrepancies • Provide engineering insight to bring more design work in-house and reduce PM dependency Skills & Responsibilities: • 3-5+ years of Comcast OSP engineering experience • Strong proficiency in IRIS • Proficiency in Spatial • Project Management background preferred • Experience with coax and fiber network design • Background in as-built QC, proofing, and approval workflows • Experience supporting betterments, relocations, SPAN replacements, or similar initiatives • Familiarity with P2 reporting and Comcast project tracking systems • Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate cross-functionally • Strong independent decision-making skills Location: Remote Job Posted by ApplicantPro Remote About the Company: SRI Telecom Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
