Human Resources Manager (Hybrid – Bergen County, NJ)
About the position
Our client, a respected regional law firm, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support firm-wide HR operations from its Bergen County office. This hybrid role reports directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer and plays a key role in managing employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and compliance across multiple offices.

Responsibilities
• Partner with the CHRO to oversee firm-wide HR functions and policies
• Manage recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention initiatives
• Lead employee relations, performance evaluations, and disciplinary processes
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and HR best practices
• Coordinate benefits administration, including 401(k) and profit-sharing plans
• Oversee non-exempt staff and ensure firm performance standards are met
• Maintain and update job descriptions and organizational staffing plans
• Support leave administration and employee conflict resolution
• Provide reporting and HR insights to firm leadership
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
• 4+ years of progressive HR experience within a law firm or similar professional services environment
• Strong employee relations and compliance experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of professionalism and discretion
• Stable career history required
Nice-to-haves
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or PHR certification a plus
