Silver Harbour Seniors’ Activity Centre is a non-profit organization and federally-registered charity whose vision is a diverse community that celebrates aging. Our mission is to help seniors thrive by offering a wide range of programs, services, and connections. We provide a gathering place, recreational activities, and social services for seniors in North Vancouver. We offer a wide variety of activities including physical fitness, indoor sports, games, visual arts, performing arts, languages, cultural groups, tech classes, special events, outings, and informative seminars. We also provide a number of important services such as legal advice, low-cost meals and refreshments, information and referral, and affordable clothing and household goods. We are a busy Centre, receiving more than 600 visits a day, and reliant on volunteers for 75% of the hours required to operate our Centre and activities. Seniors who participate at Silver Harbour see improvements to their social connectedness, sense of purpose, self-confidence, self-esteem, resilience, creative expression, mental and emotional wellness, physical health, and capacity to plan and make informed choices. **OVERVIEW** This job description is for a Program Assistant at Silver Harbour Seniors’ Activity Centre is offered under the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
