PostgreSQL DBA (Logical) and Some Development Experience

Job description:
• Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases across development, testing, and production environments.
• Perform logical database design, schema optimization, and data modeling to support application performance and scalability.
• Oversee database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Support database upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
• Collaborate closely with application development teams to ensure efficient SQL design and database integration.
• Implement and maintain database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
Required Skills & Experience:
• 6 years of experience as a Database Administrator with focus on PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of logical database design, normalization, and schema management.
• Experience in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and database partitioning.
• Experience supporting State or Federal government projects or large consulting clients
• Familiarity with AWS RDS / Cloud PostgreSQL environments is a plus.
Experience with Linux environments, shell scripting, and monitoring tools (e.g., pgAdmin, Prometheus, Grafana).
