We are expanding into federal, state, and local government contracting and are seeking a highly motivated Government Contracting Specialist to help us secure transportation and housing contracts. Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Government Contracting Specialist to join our team on a commission-based basis. Duties • SAM.gov • State procurement portals • County and municipal bid boards • Analyze solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, IFBs, Sources Sought) • Prepare and submit proposals and bid packages • Draft capability statements and pricing proposals • Communicate directly with contracting officers and agencies • Track submission deadlines and compliance requirements • Monitor contract modifications and amendments • Maintain a pipeline of active and upcoming opportunities • Assist in maintaining SAM registration and certifications Compensation Structure • Paid by commission percentage of awarded contracts • Percentage negotiable based on experience • Large earning potential on: • Multi-year contracts • IDIQ contracts • Housing per diem programs • Transportation service agreements Example: If a $500,000 contract is awarded and the commission is 5%, you earn $25,000. Qualifications Preferred Experience: • Prior experience in government contracting • Knowledge of FAR regulations • Experience bidding on federal or state contracts • Familiarity with NAICS codes and set-asides • Strong proposal writing skills • Understanding of transportation or housing services (preferred) Skills: • Strong research abilities • Deadline-oriented • Excellent communication skills • Highly organized • Self-motivated & results-driven Ideal Candidate • Has previously won government contracts • Understands small business set-asides • Can build relationships with contracting officers • Works independently and produces results • Motivated by performance-based income Requirements • Proven experience in procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiation within a government or regulated environment. • Strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), UCC law, and compliance management standards. • Expertise in legal drafting, document review, and records management related to contracts. • Familiarity with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft or Salesforce for contract tracking and reporting purposes. • Excellent negotiation skills coupled with strategic planning capabilities to maximize business development opportunities. • Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in document review and pricing strategies. • Knowledge of technical writing, proposal writing, and pricing models tailored for government projects. • Strong research skills to stay current on procurement laws like UCC law and federal regulations affecting contracting activities.
