Job Description
As a Content Creator, you will:
• Plan, shoot, and edit short-form videos that highlight campus life, academics, athletics, research, and special events particularly for Allegheny's digital and social platforms.
• Write concise profiles, feature stories, and other web content that is optimized for SEO and aligned with Allegheny's brand voice.
• Assist with creative and editorial projects such as photography, press releases, and other special marketing initiatives as assigned.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Communications colleagues, students, and campus partners to identify and develop stories that showcase the distinctive Allegheny experience.
• Monitor social media, video, and higher education trends to recommend creative content ideas and approaches

Experience and Qualifications
• Entry level position
• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, multimedia, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience) preferred.
• 1 - 3 years experience preferred

Required Knowledge
- Working knowledge of video production and editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or mobile-based editing apps)
- Experience creating, editing, and publishing content for social media and digital platforms
- Interest in emerging technologies and social platform trends

Required Skills and Abilities - Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms - Familiarity with SEO best practices and web writing preferred - Photography and/or basic graphic design experience is a plus - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Enthusiasm for higher education and a passion for capturing authentic student and campus stories
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends to capture campus life and other important assignments
