Vice President, Solutions Consulting (Reston, VA OR Remote - United States)
About the position
We are seeking a dynamic and transformational Vice President of Solutions Consulting to lead our pre-sales team and drive the modernization of our solutions consulting practice. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, a deep understanding of modern sales methodologies, and a passion for innovation and customer success. Reporting to our Chief Revenue Officer, you will play a crucial role in driving the success & revenue growth by ensuring the effective delivery of pre-sales technical support and solution demonstrations to potential clients. Your expertise in understanding customer requirements, translating them into innovative solutions, and aligning them with the company's products and services will be critical in driving growth and customer satisfaction. We are looking for this executive leader to shake up the old school mentality of selling features & functions and drive a paradigm shift of unlocking the power of storytelling by demonstrating value & business outcomes to our customers.
Responsibilities
• Manage and mentor a team of 50+ solutions consultants, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
• Develop and execute a strategic vision for the modernization of the pre-sales function, aligning with overall company goals.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and customer-centricity within the team.
• Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs, identify opportunities, and develop compelling solutions that align with the company's products and services.
• Lead the solutions consulting team in crafting and delivering effective presentations, demonstrations, and proofs of concept to potential clients.
• Ensure the team provides accurate and timely responses to technical and functional inquiries from prospects, addressing their concerns and positioning the company's solutions as the best fit for their requirements.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to guide the development of innovative solutions that differentiate the company in the market.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to provide valuable customer feedback, contribute to product roadmap discussions, and influence product enhancements and new feature development.
• Identify and promote opportunities for cross-selling and upselling by leveraging deep understanding of customer needs and the company's product portfolio.
• Build out productivity metrics & targets as well as coverage models.
• Partner with the customer success team to ensure a smooth transition from the pre-sales to post-sales implementation, maintaining a cohesive and positive customer experience.
• Work closely with the solutions consultants to provide ongoing support to existing clients, helping them maximize the value of their investment and identifying opportunities for expansion or upsell.
Requirements
• 10+ years in solutions consulting or pre-sales engineering at an enterprise SaaS company.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building, developing, & transforming high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise software, SaaS solutions, and the ability to quickly understand and communicate the value proposition of complex software systems.
• Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset, with the ability to identify market opportunities and develop compelling solutions that meet customer needs.
• Deep understanding of modern sales methodologies and technologies.
• Customer-centric approach with a strong focus on driving customer success and satisfaction.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, product management, and engineering.
