Job Summary WORK FROM HOME - Contract Tax Searcher Searchers needed with prior experience, various and multiple states EST - normal business work hours M-F with flexibility A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO BRING YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF REAL ESTATE TAX SEARCHING TO OUR BUSY CLIENTS WE SERVICE ALL STATES AND HAVE AVAILABLE FOR OUR ONGOING PROJECTS The Tax Examiner/Tax Abstractor/Tax Searcher will utilize experience in real estate records, forms, and practices. You will be abstracting, compiling and examining documentation from public records, such as Tax Collectors, Treasurers, Clerks, Assessors offices, etc., via phone call, email or online sites, could include other agencies that collect real estate, utility bills (based on lender and locations) Must be able to organizing the information into a software application system which reflects the parties of interest clients. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Examiner/Tax Abstractor/Tax Searcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong researching skills, Abstract and analyze basic records, such as deeds, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books, to determine ownership and legal restrictions and to verify legal description of property and completeness of records A solid understanding of real estate tax collection process, required for closings, tax lines, etc. This role involves contacting agencies that collect real estate, water, sewer or any other bills that would cause a lien EXPERIENCE & PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES • Experience in a tax / title service company, tax abstractor and/or public records industry • Experience examining tax records • Ability to read and comprehend understand and execute policy and procedures • Competent in computer applications including internet searching • Strong communication skills with reading, writing, speaking and command of the English language • Critical thinking with analytical and research skills • Detailed, organized, with time management and multi-tasking • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
