Job Overview
In this part-time role, you will be responsible for accurately entering data from insurance claims and authorization requests into our system, ensuring timely and efficient processing of claims. As a Data Entry Claims Intake Processor, you will play a critical role in supporting our team's efforts to deliver high-quality service to our clients. With flexible work hours between 8am - 4:30pm CST and the option to work fully remotely, this position offers a great work-life balance and the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter data from insurance claims and/or authorization requests into our system, meeting client turnaround times and maintaining a high level of accuracy (98% or higher)
- Navigate efficiently and effectively through imaging software to retrieve claims and authorizations for data entry
- Differentiate between different claim types and follow established data entry guidelines
- Accurately identify specific document types that require special handling
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure work is completed in accordance with designated turnaround times
- Support additional workflows as needed due to internal or external requirements
- Perform quality reviews of other team members' claims/authorizations according to established data entry guidelines
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing additional responsibilities as needed
- Alert management of potential issues upon identification of discrepancies
- Provide recommendations on process improvements to increase efficiencies as appropriate
Qualifications and Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 months or more years of experience in data entry or typing-focused role
- Strong data entry/typing skills, with a minimum of 8,200 KSPH and 98% accuracy rate
- Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency in imaging software and data entry systems (training provided)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in insurance claims processing or a related field
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare industry concepts
- Experience with quality review and process improvement initiatives
- Certification in data entry or a related field (e.g. CDE, CDS)
