REMOTE Electrical Estimator - Utilities Transmission/Substation

Job Description Job Title: REMOTE Electrical Estimator - Utilities Transmission/Substation Type: Direct Hire Work Location: Remote Job Overview As an Estimator, you will create utility project estimates, act as an extension of our client’s team and provide best-in-class service. As an Estimator, you will be involved with consulting on select projects where your expertise and guidance is requested as well as providing assistance to the Project Management Team as requested. Essential Job Responsibilities • Create and review thorough scope/design documentation for potential projects including but not limited to a scope document, KMZ files (Google Earth), Transmission Asset Mapping Interface files and FileNet (engineering drawing database). • Create and review substation and transmission line estimates at a project level. • Review supplemental support estimates (Support estimates include Access Roads, Forestry, SCADA/IT Network, Testing and Commissioning, Real Estate, Project Management, Environmental and Revenue Metering.) • Coordinate with other members of the scoping and estimating team, accounting, engineering, sponsors, regional contacts and personnel from the supplemental support estimate staff. • Interpret and review actuals in comparison to estimates. • Assist in the feedback loop from project execution to ensure accuracy is improving. • Attend regional meetings with sponsors, protection, maintenance, and other stakeholders to review the status of all open estimates. • Review/approve/reject estimate requests in OPPM. • Build project schedule timelines for substation, transmission line and support estimates with correct logic. Required Skills & Experience • Solid understanding of Electrical engineering design / drawing packages specific to Transmission / Substation utilities. • Solid understanding of substation construction tasks involved with Project Execution. • Solid financial acumen. • High school or GED • BS degree in engineering or similar technical BS degree is advantageous • 5-15 years of estimating experience within the electric utility industry is required specifically related to Substation and Transmission estimating or engineering. • This is a good opportunity for Substation and Transmission Engineers who are looking to pivot and apply their technical skills in a estimating role. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is highly preferred • Microsoft Office with strong excel skills Big Bonus Points If You Have • Sage Estimating software (highly advantageous) • Navigator • OPPM • Google Earth • SAP • Experience with substation design, construction, and/or testing (aligned with estimating experience) • Experience with Transmission line design, construction, and/or testing. • Ability to mine and analyze data. Job Requisition # 39933 #Remote A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $100,000 - $155,000 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
