V.I.E. Interest Rate Derivatives Trading Assistant
Responsibilities
Within the Global Markets Division (MARK) of Societe Generale, you will join as a VIE in the Investment Solutions desk within the Fixed Income department (FICC) in New York. Your focus will be on supporting market making activity for the desk on flow, exotics and investment strategies activities.
Working closely with the Exotic Traders to support their daily trading and risk management operations, as well as with the business partners in managing the lifecycle of the volatility products (Sales, Engineers, IT, Risk, Middle Office, etc).
Scope of coverage is the FIC Investment Solution trading desk, which is composed of:
• Vanilla Swaptions Market Making
• Rates Exotic and Structured Products
• QIS (Quantitative Investment Strategies)
• Hybrid Exotics
• FX Options Market Making
Example of tasks include:
• Monitoring of the desk's risk analyses to identify issues, missing trades, error deals etc. and working with trading support for resolution.
• Daily management of exotic call option exercises.
• Daily PnL explanation reporting and analysis.
• Pricing and tracking of daily options market making results (hit ratio and client feedback in gamma,vega).
• Projects to improve trading and analytical tools for relative value analysis and risk management of the book.
• Weekly and monthly reporting of the desk activity.
A questionnaire will be provided to you in order to check your VIE (Société Générale and Business France) eligibility. For an efficient analysis of your application, please make sure to truthfully answer all the questions.
Kindly note that it is also mandatory to provide us with a formal proof of your M2 diploma validation before the assignment start date. No VIE mission will start without this document.

Profile required
PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:
• Graduate with a Master's degree from a Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Quantitative Finance
• A previous experience in Trading/Structuring/Research/Sales would be highly valued
Language skills:
• Fluent in English
Operational, technical & soft skills:
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Proficient/Good command of MS Office and Python
• Detail-oriented and proactive
• Strong coding skills
• Options on equity or interest rates
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in New York is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.
In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
