Business Development Manager - K - 12 Staffing (Remote)

Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2025-11-24
Position: Business Development/Account Manager, K-12 Staffing Company: Radiant Kids Therapy Location: Remote (U.S.) Term: Seasonal/Contract - starting Feb./March through end of Summer 2026, with potential for longer-term/ongoing contract. We are currently scaling our school-based division and are looking for a high-performing Account Manager with experience in the K-12 staffing industry to lead our school contract acquisitions for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a hunter role specifically designed for an experienced Business Development Manager who understands the nuances of the California Special Education landscape. You aren't just "selling therapy" to school districts (which are in great need of our services, by the way)—you are navigating the intersection of district budgets, SELPA requirements, and the high-stakes RFP cycle to ensure students get the services they need. Please read carefully through this entire job description before applying to ensure 1) it's the right fit and 2) you meet all application and experience requirements. Applicants who do not meet the experience and application requirements will not be considered for the position. A resume and cover letter are required, along with answering the screening questions. Thank you in advance for your time! The Mission Your primary objective is to identify and secure Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and direct-hire contracts with California school districts. You will manage the full sales cycle: from initial prospecting and "warm-up" of SPED Directors to the meticulous submission of RFPs and the final negotiation of bill rates. We have the clinicians, the reputation and the clinical excellence; we need you to open the doors. Why Radiant Kids? Unlike the "big box" national staffing mills, Radiant Kids Therapy is boutique and clinician-owned. This gives you a massive competitive advantage: you are selling quality and clinical integrity, not just "warm bodies." We offer a nimble environment where you can get contracts approved quickly without the corporate red tape. Key Responsibilities: • Targeted Outreach: Execute cold and warm outreach campaigns to Directors of Special Education and SELPA Administrators across California. • Pipeline Management: Identify districts with high vacancy rates or those currently using expensive, low-quality national agencies. • RFP/RFQ Excellence: Monitor platforms like EdJoin and PlanetBids; lead the drafting and submission of winning proposals. • Credentialing Coordination: Ensure Radiant Kids is added to "Approved Vendor" lists and assist in maintaining our NPA status during the contracting phase. • Consultative Selling: Position Radiant Kids as a boutique, clinician-led partner rather than a "staffing factory." Qualifications: • 1+ years of experience in K-12 education staffing and business development. Experience in staffing SLP/OT/PT/Special Education contracts preferred. • Familiarity with California’s Special Education landscape (SELPAs, NPA certification, and Ed Code). • A "hunter" mentality with a "helper" heart—you understand that every contract signed means a child receives the services they need. • Excellent attention to detail, including this requirement that you include a cover letter addressed to the name of our HR Manager, and spell your first and last name backwards at the top. • Characteristics that are vital for this role: Must be well-versed in the languages and terms of school districts, excellent at tracking down current and correct contact names and information for districts, able to be persistent with polite pressure (able to follow up 5-7x without sounding desperate or annoying), experience managing RFPs or similar high detail-orientated documentation, knowing how to "sell" our services by solving the district's problem. Schedule: • Up to 20-30 hours/week • Flexible schedule, but most hours must be during the California (PST) school day schedule for live phone calls, emails, etc. Note about follow-ups: We respectfully request that you do not call or email our office to follow up on your application. Our exceptional Admin Team is already very busy and these calls and emails take away from their valuable time supporting the clients and families we work with. We will review every application that meets the listed requirements and we will reach out to you if your application is moved on to the next step, so no need to follow up. We typically receive many applications for this type of position and we employ a very thorough screening process to ensure we find just the right fit for the role and for our company. If you don't hear back from us on this one, it may have just been that competition was tough-- in that event, please feel free to apply to future posts. Just be sure you've read through the entire job post and the requirements before submitting your application. Thank you for your time; we appreciate your attention to detail! Compensation: • Can be W-2 or 1099. Hourly base rates (DOE): W-2: $25-35/hr.; 1099: $35-45/hr. (or higher if many years experience + already-established CA School District SPED contacts). • Commission Structure: 1) Sign-On Bonus: Flat fee of $500-1,000 for every new Master Service Agreement (MSA) or contract signed and 2) Percentage Model: 1% of total gross contract value for the first year. Job Type: Part-time Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week Benefits: • Flexible schedule Application Question(s): • In what city and state are you physically located? • Please briefly describe what makes you a great fit for this position. • Have you ever successfully secured a Master Service Agreement (MSA) or contract with a California school district? Or if you have done this in other states, please describe. • Are you familiar with the RFP (Request for Proposal) process for school districts? • Please briefly describe your K-12 Account Manager/Business Development-related experience. Education: • Bachelor's (Required) Experience: • K-12 staffing or education-related sales: 1 year (Required) Language: • English (Required) Location: • United States (Required) Work Location: Remote Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
