Job Overview

In this full remote position, you will be responsible for responding to incoming calls from our customers, addressing their concerns, and providing timely resolutions. As a key member of our customer service team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our clients receive exceptional support and have a positive experience with our organization. This is a permanent, full-time position that requires flexibility to work some of our 8-hour shift schedules during our regular service hours of 5:00 am-10:00 pm true time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming calls from customers regarding benefit qualifications, prescription status inquiries, and other related issues
  • Manually educate callers on their prescription benefits, use strategy, formulary, superiors, and status of orders, as well as claims or inquiries
  • Ask relevant questions, listen attentively, and record necessary information in computer systems
  • Identify issues and communicate solutions and actions to clients, pharmacies, and doctors, including prescribed orders and reorders
  • Make outgoing calls to customers regarding prescription orders and remittance issues

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following essential qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher) or equivalent work experience
  • 1+ years of customer service experience, including delivering service over the phone
  • Familiarity with computers and Microsoft Windows PC applications, including the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system functions
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Word (ability to open and navigate a word document) and Microsoft Excel (ability to open and navigate a spreadsheet)
  • Ability to work some of our 8-hour shift schedules during our regular service hours of Sunday - Sunday 5:00 am - 11:00 pm local time in Pacific Standard Time or Mountain Standard Time, depending on location

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Contact Center experience
  • Customer service expertise
  • Experience with Adult Learning in an online environment
  • Familiarity with Digital platforms and systems, including Web, Chat, and email
  • Healthcare/Insurance setting (familiarity with medical terms, health plan documents, or benefit planning concept)
  • Community service, behavior health, disease prevention, wellness promotion, and actions change (working with vulnerable populations)

Telecommuting Requirements

To work from home effectively, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • A dedicated workspace setup that is separate from other living areas and provides adequate privacy
  • Ability to keep all company-sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must reside in an area that can receive a UnitedHealth Group authorized high-speed internet connection or utilize an existing fast internet service
  • Must be able to connect directly to the internet using a hardwire (either directly to the cable box or router)
