Director, Field Applications Engineering
Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Director Field Applications Engineering. This position will be located remotely, with preference for the Austin, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Southern CA, Oregon, or Idaho.
Summary:
The Director, Field Applications Engineering leads a technical team that drives customer success through deep process engagement, solution development, and post-sales support. This role ensures alignment between field strategies and business objectives, promoting the adoption of advanced chemical solutions in semiconductor manufacturing. The Director also plays a key role in expanding the company’s technical presence in the market, strengthening customer relationships and competitive positioning. By inspiring cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement, they help deliver on corporate goals and technical excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Lead a multi-regional or global team of FAEs, setting clear expectations, managing resource allocation, and developing organizational capabilities to scale with business growth.
• Establish and execute a global field applications strategy that aligns with long-term product and business plans, ensuring consistent customer engagement across regions.
• Serve as a senior technical partner to Sales, Product, and R&D leadership, advising on customer trends, technology inflection points, and field priorities to influence roadmaps and resource planning.
• Drive strategic technical engagement with high-value customers, cultivating executive relationships and positioning the company as a partner in technology enablement and roadmap execution.
• Oversee and approve critical product evaluations and qualifications, ensuring robust planning, risk mitigation, and cross-functional alignment for successful outcomes.
• Champion voice-of-customer initiatives, synthesizing regional feedback into global technical themes that shape product evolution and go-to-market strategies.
• Develop scalable tools, standards, and training programs to improve field efficiency and ensure consistent, high-quality technical support globally.
• Lead organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on knowledge management, collaboration platforms, and field data analytics.
• Take ownership of high-impact or escalated customer issues, leading executive-level coordination of root-cause investigations and resolution planning.
• Sponsor and guide cross-functional task forces to address recurring technical challenges or field quality concerns, ensuring preventive actions are implemented.
• Review and act on global field performance metrics, using data to proactively identify risk areas and initiate corrective or preventative actions.
• Represent the technical support function in executive customer reviews, articulating resolution plans, improvement efforts, and ongoing collaboration initiatives.
• Foster a culture of accountability and responsiveness within the FAE organization, ensuring timely closure of issues and sustained customer confidence.
Education & Credentials:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and
• 12+ years of progressive experience in engineering, with 8+ years progressive leadership experience or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master’s or doctoral degree is preferred.

Compensation
Base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
• Missouri salary range for this role is between $126,700 and $177,300 annually.
• Texas salary range for this role is between $152,000 and $182,400 annually.
• Arizona salary range for this role is between $141,900 and $170,200 annually.
