Club House Family Liaison
About the position
Implement and manage a Community Schools initiative focusing on elementary school students & their families who are enrolled in TOGETHER!’s Club House before & after-school programming. Case manage students & families and leverage partnerships to remove barriers for students’ success in school. Work in close collaboration with the Club House team, teachers, and counselors to support student success.
Responsibilities
• Work with Club House program staff, students, parents, volunteers, community members and community agencies to support students’ success in school. Develop and nurture relationships with these sectors.
• Create student needs assessment and program plan in collaboration with Club House program leadership. Design and implement services around the assessment.
• Implement a menu of needs-driven, high-quality services in adherence with the Community Schools model, including but not limited to health services, parent/family engagement, adult education, direct material assistance and interventions/services targeted to low-income, homeless and/or chronically absent students. Ensure these services are accessible to program families via site access, distribution, and at Family Night events.
• Leverage, strengthen, and support programs that increase educational opportunities and social connections for families and students, both inside and outside the school system, including meeting with school principals and counselors as needed.
• Case manage 50 total students across program service sites, including site visitation. Use the TOGETHER! in-take, follow up, and use data tracking systems to track student progress and keep data organized for reporting requirements.
• Manage a Community Resource Center for easy access to tangible resources.
• Generate support from in-kind donors to keep Community Resource Center stocked.
• Responsible for required community assessments, data collection, evaluation, program planning, strategic planning, and reporting.
• Attend program and agency training sessions and staff meetings.
• Represent TOGETHER! and the Club House and/or Community Schools Program at events as needed.
• Regular operation of company van, in and around Lacey and Tumwater.
• Regular travel in personal vehicle between program/partner sites, and Tumwater headquarters office.
• Ensure implementation of policies adopted by TOGETHER!’s Board of Directors
Requirements
• Pass a background check.
• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR/First Aid certification and current Food Worker Card.
• Good organizational, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in administrative and other complex organizational tasks.
• Successful experience working with high-risk children and families and the ability to work with individuals of diverse cultural/ethnic backgrounds.
• Acknowledgment and understanding of systemic oppression and a commitment to systems change.
• Experience in building and maintaining partnerships between community organizations
• Ability to act as a liaison between schools and community groups.
• Ability to develop relationships, relate to and motivate elementary aged students.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Willingness to follow agency and school-site policies and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member, balancing multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated commitment to TOGETHER!’s mission, vision, and core values.
Nice-to-haves
• Strong preference will be given to Bilingual Spanish-English speakers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Community Health, Education, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or closely related field required.
• Experience with case management models.
• Experience with eviction prevention & rapid rehousing.
