About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Remote Call Center Customer Service Representative III to join our team, providing Medicaid member support and acting as a team lead for peer agents. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for handling escalations, providing one-to-one telephone contact with applicants, beneficiaries, and enrollees, and accurately documenting enrollment requests and status changes. Your excellent customer service skills, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of program policies will enable you to provide clear, complete, and accurate information to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as escalations for inquiries from potential and existing Iowa Medicaid Program Recipients and Affiliates
  • Act as team lead for peer agents, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service
  • Provide one-to-one telephone contact with applicants, beneficiaries, and enrollees in customer service roles
  • Accurately document enrollment requests and status changes
  • Enter application and enrollment information into a web-based computer system for customers wishing to apply for the program over the telephone
  • Maintain technical and program policy proficiency in the Medicaid rules/guidelines and other related program policies
  • Provide clear, complete, accurate, and objective information based on a full understanding of program requirements

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a basic understanding of a call center environment in a customer service role and quality monitoring processes. You should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with applicants, beneficiaries, and co-workers, and have the ability to problem-solve through analysis and ongoing feedback. A high school diploma or GED is required, and a background check will be conducted as part of the hiring process. You must reside within 1 hour driving distance from Des Moines, IA, and have reliable internet access.
