Communication Strategist
Job Description:
• Writing and editing news releases, email messages, letters to parents/staff, articles, website content, social media content, and other types of written content for public schools and districts.
• Working directly with educational administrators and staff to meet a range of communication needs, including participating in scheduled and as-needed video calls and meetings.
• Responding promptly and professionally to client inquiries and requests, helping to clarify needs, set expectations, and coordinate with internal teams as appropriate.
• Writing and preparing copy and specifications for pieces developed by our graphic design team.
• Developing key messages and talking points for a variety of communication and marketing campaigns, including those focused on referendum efforts, enrollment, and hiring/recruitment.
• Using Canva to create social media graphics and other materials.
• Working within Canva to make quick revisions to flyers, fact sheets, brochures, and other items as needed.
• Writing and preparing content for client newsletters, using Smore and similar platforms.
• Assisting with the creation of handbooks, course guides, reports, and other documents.
• Using an established project management system and processes to communicate and collaborate with fellow Donovan Group staff on a daily basis.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited postsecondary institution
• Professional writing and/or editing experience
• Submission of a resume and at least two writing samples
