CTO / Principal Engineer

Overview A growing tech startup is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer and CTO to join their team. This pivotal role is essential for supporting the development and maintenance of their mobile application designed for creative influencers, ensuring its continuous improvement and responsiveness to industry changes. The position requires immediate engagement and hands-on technical leadership to facilitate the next stage of the company's product evolution and operational capacity. Responsibilities • Collaborate closely with a small team, including a front-end developer and a co-founder, to develop and enhance features for an existing iOS mobile application. • Monitor and ensure timely updates to the app, adapting swiftly to any changes in APIs and emerging technological trends. • Attend to bug reports, deliver timely resolutions, and perform regular system checks to guarantee application stability and performance. • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction while remaining hands-on with coding and architectural decisions. • Engage with outsourced design teams to integrate compelling design elements into the functionality of the app. • Participate in product launches and contribute to the company's strategic planning by assessing project requirements and timelines. • Support ongoing app maintenance and be proactive in suggesting improvements to the app's performance and user experience. • Maintain the confidentiality of the company’s operations and navigate within a fast-paced, remote working environment. Qualifications • Extensive experience in hands-on coding, particularly with Golang, providing a solid foundation for backend development needs. • Proven expertise in developing mobile applications, with a well-rounded understanding of mobile app technology, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. • Experience in zero-to-one startup environments, capable of building MVPs and scaling applications efficiently. • Background in affiliate marketing, e-commerce, social media, or the creator/influencer industry is advantageous. • Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively in a small, globally distributed team. • Strong understanding of architectural patterns and a keen interest in monitoring application ecosystems. • Proficiency in navigating remote communication tools and collaborating across diverse teams, including design and front-end development. • Ability to manage confidential projects discreetly while contributing valuable insights to business strategies and growth plans.
