K–12 AI Curriculum Developer
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced K–12 Curriculum Developer to design and implement a new program that integrates foundational and advanced AI concepts into existing curriculum while fully aligning to California State Standards. This role will lead the development of a coherent, standards-based AI curriculum for grades K–12 that is rigorous, age-appropriate, and accessible to diverse learners.
Key Responsibilities
•Design and develop a comprehensive, vertically aligned K–12 AI curriculum/program that integrates with existing California content standards (e.g., Math, ELA, Science, Computer Science, CTE).
• Map all lessons, units, and assessments to relevant CA State Standards, ensuring clear standards-alignment documentation.
• Create teacher-facing materials, including unit plans, lesson plans, pacing guides, rubrics, performance tasks, and project-based learning activities focused on AI concepts.
• Develop student-facing materials such as handouts, digital resources, interactive activities, and assessments that introduce AI literacy, ethics, data, algorithms, and real-world applications at developmentally appropriate levels.
• Incorporate culturally responsive and inclusive practices that support diverse learners, including English Learners and students with disabilities.
• Integrate digital tools, AI platforms, and emerging technologies in ways that enhance learning while emphasizing digital citizenship, safety, and ethical use of AI.
• Use data (pilot feedback, assessments, teacher input) to refine and improve curriculum over time.
Required Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience (typically 3+ years) developing K–12, standards-based curriculum and instructional materials.
• Strong understanding of California State Standards; familiarity with NGSS, Common Core, and/or California Computer Science Standards.
• Demonstrated experience aligning curriculum to standards and documenting that alignment.
• Experience as a K–12 classroom teacher, instructional coach, or curriculum specialist.
• Working knowledge of AI concepts at a K–12-appropriate level (e.g., data, algorithms, machine learning basics, AI ethics), or strong willingness and capacity to quickly learn and apply these concepts.
• Excellent written communication skills and ability to create clear, teacher-friendly materials.
