Financial Planner
About the Role
The Financial Planner will be responsible for creating financial plans in coordination with our paraplanning team, preparing client-ready presentation materials, reviewing completed financial plans with financial advisors, and providing phone- and email-based customer support. The ideal candidate will be service-minded and detail oriented.
This is a remote contract position. A well-performing candidate who meets the expectations of the role may be considered for a full-time position after six months.
Responsibilities:
• Financial Planning
• Perform initial work review on submitted financial plan requests and work with the financial advisor to correct any “not in good order” items.
• Develop and demonstrate proficiency with the SIPS planning software and PlanScout’s financial planning techniques.
• Create financial plans using the SIPS planning system using PlanScout’s financial planning techniques.
• Identify opportunities to add or refine financial planning techniques.
• Presentation Preparation
• Prepare client-ready presentation documents summarizing the financial plan and recommendations for clients according to PlanScout standard operating procedures.
• Where appropriate, customize the presentation materials to effectively communicate complex concepts or incorporate advisor preferences.
• Financial Plan Reviews
• Deliver completed presentation materials to the advisor; schedule and facilitate meetings to review the completed plan.
• Be able to describe financial planning techniques clearly and effectively to advisors, including when/why/how they may be used in their client plans.
• Capture case revisions and update the financial plan and presentation materials accordingly.
• Customer Support
• Provide telephone- and email-based support for financial advisors using PlanScout’s financial planning services.
• Provide telephone- and email-based support for financial advisors using the SIPS planning software to address questions, issues, and concerns.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. CFP® certification or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, or related roles.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts in simple terms.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards and client confidentiality.
