Bioinformatics Analyst III

Job Title: Bioinformatics Analyst III Job Description... We are seeking a Bioinformatics Analyst to join our cross-functional team and provide advanced bioinformatics support for studies of age-related diseases. The successful candidate will utilize a variety of omics data to test and refine biological hypotheses in coordination with wet-lab and computational colleagues. Responsibilities include upstream processing of omics data, QC normalization, exploratory data analysis, and downstream processing of bulk, single-cell, and/or spatial transcriptomic data which involves cell type annotation, differential gene expression analysis, gene set enrichment analysis, and results visualization. Additional responsibilities may include analysis of proteomics or other data modalities depending on project needs. This position is available for 6 months and can be performed from Lake County or remotely, with working hours typically from 9AM-5PM Central Time, and some flexibility depending on the location of the applicant. Hard Skills • PhD in Bioinformatics, Genetics, Molecular and Cellular Biology or related field or MS with at least 6 years of experience • Single-cell and/or spatial transcriptome QC and analysis • Bulk RNAseq data processing and analysis • Proficiency with R and/or Python for data exploration and statistical analysis • Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) and job submission systems Soft Skills • Ability to work collaboratively across functional teams • Strong problem-solving skills • Effective communication skills Job Type This is a contract position with a duration of 26 Weekly. Work Environment This role can be performed either remotely, onsite, or in a hybrid setting. The position requires flexibility in hours, with a typical schedule of 9AM-5PM Central Time.
