Shopify App Developer (Node/React) – Build “Search & Conversion Optimizer” MVP

Job Description: I’m looking for an experienced Shopify app developer to build an MVP of a new app called: FrictionFix – Search & Conversion Optimizer Goal of the app: Help Shopify store owners see which on-site search terms are losing them money (no results / low conversion) and give them a simple dashboard + workflow to fix those issues. This is a paid, fixed-price project with potential for ongoing work. Speed, reliability, and clean code matter. What the app should do (MVP) Install via Shopify OAuth Standard public app Uses Shopify Partner app listing Stores shop and access token Track search queries & behavior Capture on-site search terms For each query, store: How often it’s searched Whether it returned products (no results vs results) Whether it led to product views / orders (basic conversion signal) Store data in a database (Postgres/Supabase/etc.) Dashboard inside Shopify Show: Top “No Result” search queries (last 30 days) Low-conversion queries Estimated “revenue lost” based on: Average order value Baseline conversion rate Allow merchant to: Mark a query as “Fixed” Add notes about what they changed Billing & Plans Use Shopify Billing API for recurring charges Plans: Free: see top 10 broken queries Pro ($19/mo): full analytics + unlimited queries 7-day free trial for new installs Basic Admin View (nice to have) Simple internal page for me: List of installed shops Current plan Last active Tech Stack (preferred) Backend: Node.js (Express) or Shopify Node app template Frontend: React (Polaris UI is a plus) Database: Supabase, PostgreSQL, or similar Hosting: Vercel/Netlify for frontend, Render/Railway/Heroku for backend If you have a different standard stack for Shopify apps, I’m open to your recommendation. Deliverables Fully working app connected to my Shopify Partner account Installable via test store Functioning dashboard with real data Billing & plan logic working Clean, commented code in a GitHub repo README with setup instructions Short Loom video walking through: Local setup App structure App behavior Bonus if you can assist with Shopify App Store submission and make sure we pass their review.
