Social Science Research & Writing Intern

Do you enjoy researching and writing and have a passion for education? UITAC Publishing is seeking a team of Social Science Research & Writing Interns to assist with the creation and publication of course materials, market research, and social media content. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Conduct and present course content research • Build your writing portfolio by writing 1-3 sociology blogs • Cross-reference theoretical concepts and important figures in the field to create comprehensive overviews of materials taught in assigned courses • Create stylized resources and educational materials that will be used in college classrooms • Provide feedback and edits to ensure the content is engaging to students • Collaborate on the design and development of a new social science podcast The Social Science Research & Writing interns will collaborate with the UITAC content team to develop courseware for sociology and criminal justice courses, including but not limited to Criminology and Race and Ethnicity. Interns are committed to 10 hours per week with the preference for 9-month placements. All internships include weekly, 30-minute 1-1 supervision with a department leader and bi-weekly, 1-hour content and marketing team meetings. UITAC Publishing prefers current students who have taken courses within their major, especially the listed courses of Criminology or Race and Ethnicity. UITAC Publishing offers tiered internships, so students interning for consecutive semesters can learn the company culture and processes, industry, and leadership roles. Internships are unpaid. UITAC Publishing will work with students applying for university/outside financial aid for internship grants and stipends. For students seeking course internship credit, UITAC Publishing will collaborate with the students to complete the required forms for departmental internship approval. • Please highlight if you have homeschool experience!
