About the Role: As a Reading Tutor at Braintrust Tutors, you’ll work with elementary school students in a school setting to strengthen their reading comprehension, fluency, and critical thinking skills. Using our structured intervention programs and materials, you’ll deliver consistent, high-impact tutoring that meets each student where they are. Tutor must be ELL certified. Opportunity Details Start Date: Varies by Engagement | Applications are considered on a rolling basis Typical Schedule/Availability Requirement: • 12-14 weeks. 3/4 days a week. Approximately 45-minute sessions • Monday to Friday during school hours (8 am to 5 pm ET) Pay Rate: $32/hour for 1:1; $45/hour for 1:4 Requirements: Background check required; additional requirements vary by Engagement What You Will Do: • Provide small-group remote tutoring in reading for students • Implement Braintrust Tutors intervention programs as designed, using all materials with fidelity • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance • Collaborate with the Braintrust Tutors Operations team and school staff to support student growth • Foster a supportive and engaging virtual classroom environment that promotes focus and confidence • Follow school-site procedures and policies while maintaining a professional and dependable presence • Use provided assessments and progress monitoring tools for understanding to guide instruction • Manage time effectively during sessions to complete all planned instructional activities What You Will Have: • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field • Active or expired teaching license • Experience with foundational and advanced reading instruction that includes morphology-based word study, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, and writing skills covering grammar, syntax, and multi-paragraph composition using a structured scope and sequence. • Experience working with elementary school students preferred • Strong classroom management and communication skills • Reliable internet connection and appropriate technology for virtual instruction • Punctuality, professionalism, and reliability for all scheduled sessions • Passion for literacy and closing opportunity gaps Next Steps! • Complete a one-way interview via Spark Hire (sent after application) • Attend an Informative Session with the Recruitment Team • Onboarding & Clearances • Placement!
