Features Writer & Multimedia Storyteller

Astra Content is leading the search for an exceptional features writer and multimedia storyteller to join the brand publication of a global technology company focused on marketing, media, and technology. We’re looking for someone who can produce high-quality journalistic features for senior marketers — and who can then conceive how those stories should come to life across video and social, working in close partnership with an in-house video production team. If you’re a journalist or senior writer who understands how great stories translate into video and social — and can guide others to execute them — this role is very much for you. This is a temporary parental leave cover scheduled to run from February-September and is very competitively compensated. The Role You’ll write in-depth features for a sophisticated, senior audience and help shape how those stories are extended into video and social formats. You’ll own ideas from concept to publication, collaborating closely with editors, researchers, marketers, and creative partners. T he video work is conceptual and editorial: defining the story, shaping the narrative, scripting where needed, and working with professional video teams to bring it to life. You will not be expected to shoot or edit video yourself. What You'll Do • Write high-quality features • Report, write, and edit feature articles, profiles, and explanatory pieces for senior marketers. • Translate complex ideas — especially around marketing, technology, and AI — into clear, useful, engaging stories. • Write supporting assets such as scripts, briefs, and social copy tied to those features. • Identify how written features should be adapted into short- and long-form video and social formats. • Develop video concepts, outlines, and scripts that extend the core story. • Partner with in-house video producers and editors to guide execution and maintain editorial quality. • Help shape story angles, formats, and packages that serve both editorial goals and broader narrative priorities. • Understand how content travels across platforms — especially social — and how different formats reinforce one another. • Collaborate with editorial, product marketing, research, sales, and events teams. • Support key launches, campaigns, and moments with strong editorial storytelling. • Manage projects end-to-end with minimal oversight. • Balance quality, speed, and stakeholder needs in a fast-moving environment. • Keep up with trends in marketing, media, technology, and AI — and reflect that understanding in your work. What We're Looking For • 5+ years of experience in journalism, media, or editorial content roles. • A proven feature writer, ideally with experience at a major newsroom or respected publication. • Strong editorial judgment and storytelling instincts. • Experience conceiving and shaping video and social content tied to written features. • Comfort working with video teams — even if you’re not the one shooting or editing. • A portfolio that clearly shows excellent writing and thoughtful multimedia storytelling. • Familiarity with the digital advertising and marketing landscape is a strong plus. • Independent, reliable, and comfortable owning work from idea to publication.
