HR Shared Services Representative

Penn State University is seeking an HR Shared Services Representative to provide exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for HR inquiries. The role involves answering questions, investigating and resolving inquiries, and supporting other HR staff in various administrative tasks.


Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees as the first point of contact for their Human Resources (HR) inquiries
  • Answer questions received via telephone and e-mail
  • Investigate and resolve routine to intermediate inquiries
  • Coordinate with respective departments and escalate complex inquiries to appropriate professional services, payroll, or other staff as appropriate
  • Handle queries related to a wide range of HR topics including time off, leaves of absence, FMLA, benefits, retirement, compensation, professional development, recruitment, and HR policies
  • Support and aid other HR Shared Services staff in the resolution of requests and the analysis/diagnosis of problems
  • Provide general administrative support such as documentation of calls/emails via case management software, scanning and indexing of employee documents, compiling reports, and processing employee and payroll transactions

  • General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS)
  • No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education
  • Proficiency in Office365 suite
