Fashion Designer - Children’s Wear
About the Role
We are building a new, culturally relevant kidswear brand rooted in modern streetwear, fashion trends, and youth culture, translated intelligently for children. This is not cartoon clothing and not traditional kidswear. The focus is mini versions of real fashion – silhouettes, fits, graphics, and attitude – designed for comfort, safety, and commercial scale.
We are looking for a designer who lives and breathes streetwear, trend forecasting, and youth culture, and understands how to reinterpret that for kids without losing edge.
What You’ll Be Working On
• Streetwear-inspired kidswear collections (ages approx. 2–12)
• Drop-based capsules and limited releases
• Graphics, prints, typography, trims, and branding applications
• Silhouettes inspired by adult fashion, re-engineered for kids
• Seasonal trend adaptation (colour, fit, fabric, detail)
Key Responsibilities
• Design trend-led kidswear ranges inspired by streetwear, hype culture, and current fashion movements
• Translate adult silhouettes, fits, and details into child-appropriate, wearable designs
• Develop graphics, logos, prints, and trims aligned to brand identity
• Create detailed tech packs and production-ready files
• Work closely with product development and manufacturing partners
• Stay ahead of trends across fashion, music, youth culture, and social platforms
• Contribute to shaping the overall creative direction and brand aesthetic
Required Experience
• Strong background in streetwear, youth fashion, or trend-driven apparel
• Experience designing for kidswear OR adult streetwear with kidswear translation experience
• Deep understanding of current fashion trends, hype culture, and social-first fashion
• Proven experience taking designs from concept through to production
• Strong knowledge of fit, construction, fabrics, and kidswear compliance
• US market experience (sizing, consumer expectations, retail standards)
• A portfolio that shows clear trend awareness and strong aesthetic direction
Ideal Profile
• You follow fashion, not just design it
• You understand how trends move from TikTok, music, and street culture into product
• You can design cool, relevant pieces that kids actually want to wear and parents will buy
• You’re comfortable working remotely and owning your design pipeline
• You want to build something from the ground up, not just fill in seasonal ranges
Tools & Skills
• Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop
• Graphic design & print development
• Tech pack creation
• Fabric & trim knowledge
• Strong organisation and communication
Why This Role Is Different
This is a venture-built brand, not a traditional retail label. You will have real creative influence over the look, feel, and direction of the brand. The goal is to create a kidswear label that feels current, cultural, and aspirational – not safe or generic.
