Business Operations Manager (Importer / Wholesale Distribution)
We are building a lean import & wholesale distribution business focused on B2B buyers (Amazon sellers and ecommerce brands).
This role is not for a VA or task executor.
We are hiring an Operations Manager who owns outcomes, runs systems, and keeps the founder completely out of day-to-day execution.

What This Role Is
You will own daily operations across:
Order flow
Supplier coordination
Logistics tracking
SOP execution
Contractor management
Weekly reporting
Your success is measured by how little the founder is needed.
What This Role Is NOT:
Not admin support
Not hourly task work
Not strategy or vision
Not a marketing role
Not a “figure-it-out-with-the-founder” role
You execute within clear guardrails and escalate only when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage purchase orders from placement to delivery.
Coordinate with sourcing partners and logistics providers.
Track timelines, quality checks, and fulfillment.
Maintain and improve SOPs for all repeatable processes.
Manage any supporting contractors or VAs.
Send a weekly executive summary (metrics, risks, exceptions).
Resolve routine issues independently.
Decision Authority
You may decide independently on:
Routine supplier coordination
Order processing and reorders
Contractor task assignment
Issue resolution within approved tolerances
You must escalate:
Capital expenditures above agreed limits
Margin falling below set floors
New product categories
Legal or compliance risks
Success Metrics
On-time order fulfillment
Margin consistency
Low escalation frequency
Complete and documented SOPs
Founder time saved
Effort is not measured. Outcomes are.
Compensation
Fixed monthly retainer
Performance-based bonus tied to operational stability and margin protection.
(No hourly tracking.)
Ideal Candidate
Experience in operations, logistics, or ecommerce/importing.
Calm, organized, and process-driven.
Strong written communication
Comfortable with ownership and accountability
Able to work independently without micromanagement
90-Day Expectation
Within 90 days, you will:
Fully document operations
Run the business without founder involvement
Deliver clean weekly reporting
Make your role partially replaceable
