HR Coordinator
Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP is a law firm focused on antitrust, intellectual property, and high-stakes litigation. They are seeking an HR Coordinator to manage the full lifecycle of staff recruiting and onboarding processes, while supporting hiring managers and maintaining HRIS data accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the Firm’s non-exempt recruitment efforts (job postings, resume review, applicant screening, scheduling interviews, etc…) within the HRIS system
- Manage unsolicited resumes and maintain a database of potential future candidates
- Liaise with hiring managers to develop a thorough understanding of the position being recruited for and to ensure a robust understanding of the work being performed
- Stay informed of hiring trends and innovative recruiting techniques to remain competitive
- Oversee the HR specific onboarding process for all new attorneys & staff
- Process I-9s and other compliance related documentation
- Coordinate with Legal Recruiting & Professional Development on related hiring activities for attorneys
- Create and foster relationships with local institutions (e.g., colleges, universities) and diverse professional organizations to attract and recruit alumni and other prospective candidates
- Accurately enter new hire information into the HRIS system, ensuring timely onboarding and data integrity
- Perform regular audits of HRIS data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Provided necessary and timely employee change updates to Payroll
- Maintain and update employee records
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or closely related field required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- General knowledge of office equipment and tools
- Strong Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and various document management tools
- Ability to build rapport with attorneys and professional staff
- Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Self-starter with high initiative and the ability to work independently but within a team environment
- Demonstrate a high level of discretion and confidentiality as legally appropriate
- 1-3 years of related HR experience with a multi-state law firm or professional services organization preferred
- HRIS (e.g. ADP) experience strongly preferred
