Mechanical Engineer II
Syska Hennessy Group is a global leader in consulting, engineering, and commissioning services. As a Mechanical Engineer II, you will create basic designs under the direction of senior engineers, perform equipment selections, and conduct load and energy calculations for various projects.
Responsibilities
- Represent Syska Hennessy Group and work in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.)
- Coordinate with other disciplines and work in close contact with the entire design team (architectural and engineering / internal and external)
- Conduct field inspections to determine existing conditions and coordinate new work
- Assist the Senior Engineer in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis, and other technical reports and drawings using CAD/REVIT
- Master drawing organization format and company standards
- Take ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of work assignments
- Attend continuing education seminars on technical or professional enhancing topics
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an Accredited Institution
- Minimum of 18+ months of relevant experience in the MEP field working with projects such as Aviation, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical
- Latest version of AutoCAD MEP and REVIT required
- Basic understanding of proper system selection
- Basic knowledge of applicable codes
- EIT/FE required
- Strong REVIT and MEP skills from mark-ups through the production of detailed drawings
- Basic knowledge of construction documentation and design phase requirements
- Knowledge of trade specific design and calculation software including energy analysis software (eQuest, Trace, etc.)
