Mechanical Engineer II

As a Mechanical Engineer II, you will create designs, perform equipment selections, and conduct calculations while collaborating with a diverse team and engaging with clients.
Responsibilities
- Creating basic designs under the direction of senior engineers and/or senior designers
- Performing equipment selections
- Conducting load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes
- Representing Syska Hennessy Group and working in close contact with and effectively interacting with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants
- Coordinating with other disciplines and working in close contact with the entire design team
- Conducting field inspections to determine existing conditions and coordinate new work
- Assisting the Senior Engineer in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis, and other technical reports and drawings using CAD/REVIT
- Mastering drawing organization format and company standards
- Taking ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of work assignments
- Attending continuing education seminars on technical or professional enhancing topics
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an Accredited Institution
- Minimum of 18+ months of relevant experience in the MEP field working with projects such as Aviation, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical
- Latest version of AutoCAD MEP and REVIT required
- Basic understanding of proper system selection
- Basic knowledge of applicable codes
- EIT/FE required
- Strong REVIT and MEP skills from mark-ups through the production of detailed drawings
- Basic knowledge of construction documentation and design phase requirements
- Knowledge of trade specific design and calculation software including energy analysis software (eQuest, Trace, etc.)
