About the role The US Regulatory Compliance Officer will be the go-to individual for all regulatory compliance and consumer protection issues for our business in the United States. This person has to be highly knowledgeable about American regulatory and consumer regulations (such as Reg-E and UDAAP) and remain abreast of regulatory developments in the US. This person will also support the organization on exam and licence management. As a member of the Zepz Compliance team you will aim high, embrace challenges and always do what's right. You will enable and protect the business whilst acting with integrity and building trust, as you contribute to the company's innovation, direction and long-term decision making. What you will own • Interpret and apply federal, state, and international regulatory requirements relevant to the business (e.g., MSB state regulations, permissible investments regulations, consumer protection laws, and payment services regulations). • Provide day-to-day guidance to Product, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Risk and other teams on new initiatives, regulatory obligations, and compliance risks. • Provide support with licence and exam management. • Review and sign off on marketing materials, customer communications, new products, features and business changes to ensure regulatory adherence (e.g., UDAAP, Reg E, TCPA) and monitor for regulatory updates related to those. • Oversee the regulatory complaints handling process and respond directly to state and federal regulatory complaints. • Oversee the error assertions process per Reg E standards. • Coordinate abandoned-property reporting and other state-mandated regulatory submissions. • Promote a strong compliance culture by advising the business on ethical practices, regulatory expectations, and risk-mitigation strategies. • Provide training and/or draft training materials. What we're looking for from you • Experienced US Regulatory Compliance Officer, who has previously overseen application of Reg E, UDAAP and related regulations, ideally at a payments fintech - though candidates with broader Financial Services backgrounds will also be considered. • Experience of licence and exam management would be beneficial. • Ability to work within ambiguity and fast-paced environment • Engaged in the day-to-day details of the role, whilst never losing strategic oversight of the control framework and having the gravitas to speak with senior stakeholders internally. • Can manage the tasks of the day while scanning the horizon for future threats/changes.
