Bear Mountain is looking for an experienced Admissions Director to join their Boston Team. The ideal candidate will have prior clinical and financial screening experience and be able to qualify referrals for admission. This position will be responsible for leading the interdisciplinary team review process on all potential admissions and communicating with our liaisons in the field.
Additionally, the Admissions Director will ensure appropriate admission paperwork and signatures are obtained from residence or responsible parties within 48 hours of admission. Communicate special needs of new admits to staff to ensure a smooth transition. Fulfills a proactive, take charge role in the center’s Morning Meeting. Communicates effectively with the Executive Director (ED) and other department heads to resolve admission issues, including ongoing meetings with the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) to discuss clinical services and updates to the clinical grid. Conducts tours for prospective customers interested in Bear Mountain’s skilled nursing care service. Maintains an accurate record of available beds. Alerts department heads/facility staff of projected room changes – admissions, discharges, patient transfers – at the daily admission meeting. Leads the bed management process, using established Bear Mountain principles and protocols. Models exemplary customer service to all constituencies at all times. Establishes realistic expectations for services levels with residents, families, and referral sources. Must be willing to participate in weekend screening coverage rotation.

• Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions.
• Working knowledge of electronic referral platforms and electronic medical records applications.
• Ability to read and write, communicate clearly with co-workers and customers and to respond to appropriate questions regarding work process or work product.
Qualifications
Education:
• Associates Degree in an appropriate field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
License/Certification
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• RN/LPN/LSW preferred but not required
Experience
• Two to three years prior experience as an admissions director in a skilled environment.
• Working knowledge of referral platforms and electronic medical record platforms.
